YOU SHOULD WRITE A BOOK.
Great playing.
Bonjour !
I'm "Melody Nelson" album Fan and 40 years after this album, what a surprise in France; to discovery the legendary Bassguitar is Dave Richmond (not Herbie Flowers)with a Black Burn Bison bassguitar.INCREDIBLE ! So, I've created a page on Facebook "Melody Nelson Vannier Gainsbourg" with photos, videos, etc.
I do hope some replys from Dave. Really ! PLEASE !
Remember you well from your days at the Cole Matheson's "Concorde Club" in Southampton in the early sixties. Great days.

Hi Dave, I spent an hour tonight trying to find out who played the fretless bass on the Only Fools and Horses theme tune - thanks for the info on the site! Always loved the playing on that, it's kind of inspired me to get a fretless myself.
All the best, Matt
Must have been hard to leave the Manfreds just before they really struck it rich. You are the `Pete Best`of the Manfreds story. Glad to see that you have been successful since then and best wishes.
Hi Dave, Found your site by accident while looking at WIKIPEDIA. I forgot all about you also playing with the Mann/Hugg Blues Brothers! I also played in that band - with either you or Tony Smith on Bass - sad to say the memory is pretty blurred that far back!! As I recall Manfred Mann was a bit of an a........? Dropped in on the MCB concert in Maidenhead to see Pete Ripper but didnt get to say hello. Keep up the good work and best wishes. Glyn

Hi Dave
We are just having a look at the website from rainy Loughborough. It's about time someone booked us for a cruise somewhere warm and sunny! We enjoyed the gig on Thursday and the 'ruby murray'.
See you soon

Hey Dave, great site, but I agree with young lady asking for more pictures, gotta see that friendly Richmond face. Maybe I should book you for a gig here in the true north strong and free. Anyway, congratulations. Now, that being said, take a look at my site < www.danfisher.org > just to learn about the other side of the family. By the way, I've taken up the Ukulele, my professional stage name when I become fameous will be "Ukulele Luke!
Love to all of you cuz.
Dan
Great stuff Dave - am proud to be a small part of your excellent site - thanks for sending the link to me.
Love from us and best wishes for continued success.
